Introduction to the EMERGE Public Reports

The following public reports serve as key deliverables within the project, each addressing a critical aspect of the energy transition process. From policy barriers and technical architecture to real-world pilot projects and stakeholder engagement, these reports collectively lay the groundwork for scalable, data-driven energy solutions.

The D1.1 Knowledge Base and Engagement Methodology report provides a structured approach to supporting Africa’s energy transition by integrating data-driven decision-making, stakeholder collaboration, and emerging technologies. While challenges like regulatory barriers and financial constraints remain, the proposed methodologies aim to create inclusive, efficient, and resilient energy systems across the continent.

The D1.2 Report on Policy Barriers and Requirements highlights the challenges, gaps, and opportunities in Africa’s energy policy landscape. By leveraging EU regulatory experiences, the EMERGE project aims to support African countries in developing robust policies for sustainable and inclusive energy transitions.

The D2.1 Common System Architecture report provides a foundational framework for the EMERGE project, integrating data, energy modelling tools, and stakeholder engagement to support Africa’s energy transition. By leveraging EU experiences, the CSA aims to optimize renewable energy integration, enhance decision-making processes, and provide scalable solutions for energy system planning across the African continent.

The D5.1 Pilots and Use Cases report is a crucial step in validating the EMERGE project’s energy system modelling solutions.
