The General Assembly represented an opportunity for partners from 11 organisations from European (Austria, France, Italy, Spain, Croatia) and African (Morocco, Mozambique, Nigeria, Cape Verde) countries to meet virtually and discuss the progress made so far.

Among the latest achievements is the launch of the official website, containing detailed information about the project, the submission of two deliverables (Project Quality Management Plan and Communication and Dissemination Plan) and the launch of the WP5 activities during a session organised in Mozambique to discuss the demonstration and validation of the EMERGE solutions.

During the meeting, representatives from each partner organisation provided a comprehensive overview of the ongoing activities within their respective Work Packages (WPs) and outlined the next steps to be taken:
WP1 – EMERGE Knowledge Base, engagement and value-based proposition design of the energy system models, led by University of Zagreb – Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture (UNIZAG FSB);
WP2 – Definition of EMERGE CSA and database creation, led by Brain Information Technologies (brainit);
WP3 – EMERGE Toolbox development, led by Universite Mohammed Premier 1 (UMP);
WP4 – EMERGE Research & Innovation and Policy Laboratory, led by African Technology Innovation Hubs (AfriLabs);
WP5 – Demonstration and validation of the EMERGE Solutions, led by Universidade Eduardo Mondlane (UEM);
WP6 – Dissemination, exploitation, and impact creation, led by European Sustainable Energy Innovation Alliance (ESEIA);
WP7 – Project Management, led by UNIZAG FSB.

The next General Assembly will take place on 28 and 29 November 2024 in Oujda, Morocco.
